Music plays such an important role in dance/movement therapy & movement-based healing sessions. Music can support or block the flow of our work. In this episode, you’ll learn what kinds of music are best to use with different client populations and therapeutic scenarios. You’ll also hear why it’s sometimes best not to use music at all.

Learn how you can release past trauma, break unhealthy patterns, and finally let LOVE in with my FREE Rewired For Love training.

  1. Wonderful, Orit! Thank you ~ your stories brought me back to the joys and challenges I’ve had over the years choosing/using music in sessions with various populations. Appreciated your thoughtfulness around how you put your playlists together and your sensitivity to following the lead of the clients/patients rather than “forcing the energy” (e.g with depressed clients). I’m sure you have an inviting, engaging “organic flow” 🙂
Yes! I would love to see the different playlists you have created–they all sound fabulous!

  2. Thank you Christine! I’m so glad you enjoyed it and thanks for acknowledging my flow 🙂 I’ll be happy to share! Can you e-mail me at orit.dmt@gmail.com?

    Orit,
This came at a perfect time, as I’ve been working on updating my DMT playlists. Thank you for the reminders of not relying on the music to do the work, but allowing it to support what is happening in the room. I often wish I could attend more DMT groups as a participant to soak up new ideas, but your clear examples inspired many ideas from the comfort of home! I’d also love to hear your playlists and will send you an email!

    1. Thanks Colleen! I’m glad this was helpful for you and I hope you’ve been enjoying using the playlists I’ve sent you 🙂

Hello Orit, I’ve found this post today and it was perfect timing for an assignment I’m working on. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with working with the different client types and how you tailor the playlists for their needs. These things are exactly what I’ve needed. I would also love to see the playlists and will send you an email if they are still available.
    Wishing you the best.

    1. Hey Aeva! I’m glad this was helpful and I hope the playlists were helpful for you too! Thanks for listening 🙂

Thank you so much Orit! I am studying DMT, trying to create a playlist that can respond to the here and now happening, and find that I know too few music. I have found your blog very, very helpful for my practice, and hope you could keep on sharing experience with us 😀 If the playlist is still available for sharing, I would really hope you could kindly share with me! Thank you so much!
